I have a horror of that place

"We have completed another dreadful trip to Gallipoli, and have come here this time, to go to England ... It's fearfully hot here, quite different from Gallipoli. The climate there just now is quite nice as far as we are concerned but I have a horror of that place, which I can't get over; the shells I am used to and the noise and firing, still first of all I must admit I was a bit frightened."
